“Many moons ago, my parents asked me what I wanted to
be when I grew up. I told them I like shopping so I should
open my own store. Of course they laughed and I went to
law school.
After working in the beauty industry for over 10 years as a
makeup artist, cosmetics department manager and cosmetics
buyer, in 1997 I decided it was time to open my own
store. Cosmetics, of course, was all I ever did in the retail
arena, so it only made sense. JD's pays homage to my
unused law degree (Juris Doctor). And my parents are my
biggest fans — keeping stacks of my business cards to give
to people everywhere they go.
With my dream come true, women — makeup junkies like
me or complete neophytes — can come to our safe haven
to sit and relax while getting help finding the perfect lip
gloss.
Everyone working in the store is a makeup artist — excited
to show you the latest colors and products. We make
sure we’re trained on every item we carry and we are
happy to share our knowledge with you.”
